Summer Recap: Promoting Sustainability at IAVM with Our Client Clea
It's been a busy summer for the FVN Team.
While it was hot across North America and travel proved challenging for even the most savvy jet-setter, we toured over twenty facilities, some that have been operating for years and others that are holding grand openings just this month. Two major stops along the way were the annual ALSD and IAVM Venues Connect Conferences, where we coordinated key introductions for both vendor and venue clients.
The single most impressive experience of the summer was walking across a rooftop prairie six stories above the streets of Minneapolis. I refer, of course, to the Target Center which, along with the City of Minneapolis and AEG, truly walks the walk when it comes to promoting sustainability practices with its unique urban rooftop garden. During our site inspections and conference participation, we continue to stay on top of industry products, standards and best operational practices, delivering efficiency and prized patron experiences.
The client we are most excited about this summer is ClearStream Recycling Inc, the Clear Choice™ for on-the-go public space recycling stations. We attended the 2016 IAMV Venue Connect with ClearStream's Principal, Jim Alderden, and found his solutions to be very popular with facility managers, particularly as safety and sustainability becoming more and more important in the industry. ClearStream's products engage venue patrons at the highest level to separate waste and recyclables while offering a clear sight line as to the contents of the container and waste bags for safety purposes. Indeed, the City of Phoenix Super Bowl host committee embraced ClearStream products due to their portability, safety benefits, transparent bags/containers, crowd control capability, recycling support, and creative static signage program which helps offset the cost of investment.
In other exciting news, with the coordination and advocacy of FVN, Jim Alderden was invited to join the IAVM Sustainability committee. In his role, along with other Direct IAVM venue managers, he will identify best practices, support case studies and leverage his 30+ years of experience in the industry to increase and enhance IAVM's sustainability efforts.
