Facility Vendor Network Reports on the “WOW Factor” at InfoComm 2015
InfoComm International’s annual conference is widely recognized as the meeting place for the world’s most cutting-edge audiovisual technology experts. Yet, as InfoComm 2015’s “WOW” theme would indicate, the latest trends in technology featured at this year’s Infocomm were particularly impressive, and the implications for digital signage in public facilities are huge.
The most striking trend we identified is the ability of facilities to truly achieve “clutter breakthrough” by making all signage exclusive to just one sponsor facility-wide. Long-gone are the days of static facility advertising. Today, the ability to convey a unified message across thousands of screens on campus heightens the impact of advertiser’s messages, greatly enhancing sponsorship value.
Commenting on these developments, Facility Vendor Network President John McDonald reflects, “I recall a time when the NHL requirements for rink board signage were very regimented as to what was allowed on the rink dasher boards from the skate level yellow line up to the glass. Now, there’s a true ‘wow factor’ in how developments in technology allow us to interact and communicate with the event patrons and fans.”
Indeed, creating a modern audiovisual experience keeps patron engagement fresh and is a big consideration in ensuring that aging facilities remain “future-proof.” Advances in audiovisual technology not only enhance facility communication related to advertiser messaging, but they also create cohesive communication related to way-finding, guest services, emergency procedures, and more.
“Sponsor brands can now assert themselves exclusively in facility environments, capitalizing on fans’ affinities for the star-studded performances of their favorite teams,” said McDonald. “It is truly exciting to be on the cutting edge of how digital signage is amplifying sponsor messaging and enhancing patron experience.”
